If you have something important to say, fuckin say it.

I respect M.I.A. for this. It got banned from youtube right away after it was posted. I appreciate her as an artist who actually has something to say and is not afraid to follow what she believes in. The video is so politically incorrect, but she has a point. Well worth watching. But please be warned that the video is extremely graphic and may not be for everyone. Click HERE.

I love his style and color palettes. There's so much variety in what he posts in his blog. Scott Schuman is a genius! thesartorialist.com

Geraldine Georges

I love her work! I love how she uses illustration and photography so well together. The viewers eyes flow so easily when looking at her work. It looks almost abstract. Images found months ago here.

The Mirror Man!

This is crazy! I wonder how he gets in and out of the costume without injury! I would definitely not let him sit in my leather seats in my car!

A Fascination with Legos

I've had buckets and buckets of legos since I was 5. It was my favorite toy of all time. I think it's the best toy a kid can ever have. You can create anything you could possibly imagine. I'm thinking of a way I can create art with legos.. hmmm Here's ONE way.

Directions for Success

A pretty cool way to portray classic sports photos. FFFFOUND HERE.

Feeling Inspired..

I have my own clothing line that I started in 2007 with a couple friends. Johnny Cupcakes is one of my inspirations because he started out just like I am right now. Selling shirts out of the back of my first car. He is a self-made millionaire and still goes to his stores all over the US to meet and greet his loyal customers. His products are limited edition and he is a straight edge guy who doesn't drink or smoke. Just a guy who loves feeling like a kid again. If you look at one thing on his blog, it should be his Story. Read it HERE.

Things to look for at a record store.

I always used to browse through records when I checked out record stores. This is a fun way to make use of some of the covers. Click HERE to see more

HELP!

I have my tax return, i won big in vegas, and saved my lunch money :) I'm planning on buying an SLR. Preferably a Canon. I need advice on which one to get. My price range is $600-700. I'm pretty much looking for a camera that has the best bang for its buck. And takes amazing pictures with very little noise.

Clever Advertising

www.swissskydive.org and Front Line Flea Tick Spray have found new ways to market their products effectively with innovative ways of advertising. Instead of just seeing billboards upon billboards while everyone goes about their lives, we are forced to react to their ads. We either get panic attacks from our fear of heights, or we get a quick giggle as we look at people portrayed as fleas, but surely we remember their products that they are trying to sell. Kudos!

JAKE WALTERS

His work is so kinetic. I can feel the movement of the figure and the liquid/ink.

"Wig Wam"

His name is Phillip T. Annand and he is the creator of a clothing brand called The Award Tour. I'm inspired by his brand because I'm in a similar position. We're both in college and we both have clothing lines and we both have our heads deep in the clouds. Every time I look at his blog, I leave feeling inspired. A tree fell down in his backyard and he decided, "why not make something out of it rather than just cut it up and throw it out?" You can argue on whether it's art or not, but I think it's CREATIVITY at its finest.
His Website is HERE. & mine is HERE.

This is What I Call Dedication!

This looks like one of the most time consuming and most labor intensive projects that I've seen in a while. Not too much to say about it other than it's awesome! The fact that he had to paint over every part after each frame is insane. The sound effects also help in bringing these shapes and characters to life! And may I add... that's a lot of paint! Video is here.

Brandon Jan Blommaert

I love the awkwardness of the characters and the narrative that they tell. I like the way that the artist uses items that can be found around the house and turn them into giant monsters. I want to know how he made these pieces because some parts look like it's a photograph of a sculpture and some parts are obviously photoshopped. I admire his playfulness of the relationships of the characters. I also get an atmospheric feel with every piece.

SYMPHONY By Erick Oh

This Video is crazy! I wonder technically how it was created, at some points it looks like stop motion. I liked the choice of music with the visuals. I like the abstract aspect of the video. The journey of the ink blot is very fun to follow! Click HERE to see the video.

This Reminds Me of My Project

This has been roaming around on the internet. Some people love it, some people hate it. I think it's an interesting design. But the scale is ridiculous. People have gone as far as calling it an abomination. I think if they were to do it at a smaller scale and maybe a different color. I also reminds me too much of the alien veins from the remake of War of The World.

Elevation by Nick Knight & Gareth Pugh

I found this on Kanye West's new blog. I like the play between positive and negative space. Seems like I can look at these forever and never be bored

The Future is....

My idea of the future is PLAY. Playing will be emphasized more than anything. I am thinking of creating a colossal playground with slides and everything else a kid would want. It will be as tall as skyscrapers and as wide as a city block. Kids today don't even know what "tag" or "hide and seek" is anymore. They would rather play video games and go on the internet than to go out and play. Children in todays society are deprived the joy of simple play. When this is finally built, children will be able to play as long as they want and whenever they want. My goal is to create the best and biggest playground in the universe!

I like the contrast of the texture and shape of the two figures. But they both give off the same energy and have the same attitude.

Squeeze Me -Kraak & Smaak

I love the concept of the video! Reminds me of all the times I stole post it pads from the my high school's supply room just so I can make stick figure flip books in math class. Watch video HERE.

Toby Burrows

I like the composition and the atmosphere of the photograph. The weighlessness of the figure is connected to its atmosphere. It reminds me of Julia Fullerton-Batten's work

Zaha Hadid

She is a very famous Indian architect and is know for her liquified looking buildings. Her work is very futuristic looking and inspires me to do whatever I want with my art. Im sure that many traditional architects did not like her building designs because sometimes they did not look like buildings at all. They looked more like twisted and melting metal. These were the traits that makes her work so unique and interesting to me.

Andreas Gursky

I first saw Gursky's work in Photography class today. This first reminds me of a Jackson Polluck painting. He altered the colors of the traders suits in the the image with photoshop. Gursky, was one of the first artists that used the computer to alter his photographs. The second one is interesting because i learned that to able to get this shot, they had to take out some of the windows. It ended up selling for millions of dollars. Ironic how a picture of a 99cents store sold for millions of bucks. It also shows that even something as commercial as a dollar store can be seen as art. You can google Gursky's work to find out more about him.

Brian Donnelly aka KAWS

Brian Donnelly started out as a graffiti artist who is now a respected artist all over the world. I like his art because it makes me feel like a kid again! He often altered the Simpsons and Spongebob Squarepants. He also is known for putting his characters with fashion models and iconic people. I like how his characters look like they have a believable relationships with the people around them. His blog is here.
